Child Find

Bay City ISD Special Programs provides services to students with special needs. This free appropriate public education is offered to eligible children ages 3 through 21, who may have one of the following disabilities:  learning disabilities, speech or language impairment, orthopedic or health impairment, emotional disturbance, mental retardation, autism, traumatic brain injury, other health impairment or multiple disabilities.  Services for children who are deaf-blind, or have a visual or auditory impairment, may begin at birth. 

If you think that you know a child ranging in age from Birth to 21 years old, who may have speech, language, or developmental delays, and resides in BCISD, please call BCISD Special Programs or the school campus which is closest to your home and ask to speak with the Educational Diagnostician or Licensed Specialist in School Psychology to schedule an appointment for a free screening.  ou can also contact BCISD Special Programs at 979-401-1040 for more information on how to obtain a free screening.

Pursuant to Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the District has a duty to identify, refer, evaluate and if eligible, provide a free, appropriate public education to disabled students.
