We are glad you are looking at Bay City Independent School District for your child's educational opportunity. Bay City ISD is approximately 70 miles southwest of Houston on the Gulf Coast. While Texas has great schools, large and small, we would appreciate the opportunity to share what makes the Blackcat Nation so special. If you are interested in the best of both worlds, a first-class education with highly qualified, caring staff members AND a hometown school district with opportunities typically found in much larger districts, you have come to the right place. While we enthusiastically maintain that "small town" feel, we embrace innovative programs, technology, and a rigorous curriculum that sets us apart from other districts in our area.

Bay City ISD is very proud and appreciative of the support our parents and community have given throughout the years.  Students and staff enjoy an excellent learning environment, both in the classroom and through extra-curricular activities. 

Bay City ISD believes in educating the whole child through a variety of academic, career and technological opportunities in a safe, disciplined and nurturing environment. Its goal is to prepare students to excel in our modern society. Covering 158 square miles within Matagorda County, BCISD serves pre-kindergarten through 12th grade in three elementary schools, one junior high school, and one high school. Voters passed a record-breaking Bond Referendum in 2016 which has provided the district with new facilities: new schools for Bay City Junior High and Tenie Holmes Elementary School, a baseball complex, a multi-purpose stadium, and a new Linnie Roberts Elementary School began construction in early 2020.
